G.V. Loganathan was a civil and environmental engineering professor at Virginia Tech.  He won several awards for excellence in teaching and was an adviser to undergraduate students. He was married with two children.

This portrait is an example of the 32 pastel portraits recently completed for Virginia Tech.  The portraits feature students and teachers who died in the shooting tragedy of April 16, 2007.  The collection is on exhibit at Virginia Tech's G Burke Johnston Center.

Many of the 32 individuals who died that day hailed from around the world.  The tragedy reached beyond our national boundaries.
